Onboarding ID Requirements for Stable Customers

To comply with USPS regulations, we are required to collect two forms of ID when you open a Stable account and complete USPS Form 1583.

You will need to provide:

  1. One Primary ID – must include your name and a photo.

  2. One Secondary ID – must include your name and physical home or business address (no P.O. Boxes or virtual addresses).

Important: The same document cannot be used for both Primary and Secondary ID. Each must be different.


Acceptable Primary IDs

U.S. Customers

  • U.S. Driver’s License or State ID

  • U.S. Passport

  • U.S. Military ID

  • U.S. Permanent Resident Card

  • Other U.S. Government-issued photo ID

International Customers

  • Non-U.S. Passport

  • Matricula Consular (issued by a foreign consulate; commonly from Mexico, Argentina, Guatemala, Brazil, Ecuador, etc.)

  • NEXUS Card (issued jointly by U.S. and Canada)


Acceptable Secondary IDs

U.S. Customers

  • U.S. Driver’s License or State ID (only if not used as your Primary ID)

  • Current Lease

  • Home or Vehicle Insurance Policy

  • Mortgage or Deed of Trust

  • Vehicle Registration Card

  • Voter Registration Card

International Customers

  • Current Lease

  • Home or Vehicle Insurance Policy

  • Mortgage or Deed of Trust

  • Vehicle Registration Card

  • Voter Registration Card


If You Cannot Provide Acceptable IDs

If you are unable to provide sufficient or acceptable IDs, please contact us at [email protected] to process a cancellation.

We have a 30-day cancellation policy:

  • If you cancel within your first 30 days, we can issue a refund upon request.

  • Refunds are not automatic — please reach out if this applies to you.
