What is a Primary ID?

A Primary ID is an ID with your name and a photo of yourself.

When opening a Stable address, we need to file a USPS 1583 form in order to comply with USPS federal requirements. In order to verify your identity, this form requires you provide a Primary ID. You do not need to be a US Citizen to open a Stable account, but USPS does require that you provide a passport.

Your Primary ID must include your name and a photo of yourself. Valid forms of Primary ID include:

US Government IDs

  • Driver’s license

  • U.S. University ID Card

  • Non-driver’s identification card

  • U.S. Armed Forces card

  • U.S. permanent resident or other identification card issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

  • U.S. certificate of citizenship or naturalization

  • U.S. Access Card

  • NEXUS Card

Passports

  • US Passport

  • US Passport card

  • Foreign passport
