What is a Primary ID?

A Primary ID is an ID with your name and a photo of yourself.

Updated over a week ago

When opening a Stable address, we need to file a USPS 1583 form to comply with USPS federal requirements. To verify your identity, this form requires you to provide a Primary ID.

You do not need to be a U.S. citizen to open a Stable account, and you can use a passport or photo ID from a different country.

You will need to provide:

  1. One Primary ID – must include your name and a photo.

  2. One Secondary ID – must include your name and physical residential address (no P.O. Boxes or virtual addresses).

Important: The same document cannot be used for both Primary and Secondary ID. Each must be different.
