If you incorporated your company through an incorporation service like Clerky, Stripe Atlas, or others, they likely set up a registered agent for you on your behalf, so it's common not to know who yours is.

Why does Stable recommend updating the registered agent of your new address?

As you go through your Change of Address checklist, you'll see that one of the suggested action items is to let your registered agent know that your mailing address has changed.

How do I find out who my registered agent is?

Your company's registered agent is public information, and you can search for your company's name in the state's database. Often the same registered agent company will service you for each state.

Delaware (note: their website is glitchy)

Your registered agent will appear under "Agent." You can search for their name online and you should be able to find the company that represents you. You can email them and let them know that your address has changed.
