We know that dealing with physical mail can be frustrating, especially given the delays with USPS and FedEx recently.
We try to make managing your mail as easy as possible, and to try to prevent any issues caused by external forwarding vendors, unlimited scans are included in every plan at no additional fee.
We recommend scanning all your mail before forwarding it for digital record-keeping and in case there is an issue with external forwarding.
If mail is important, we generally recommend shipping it with FedEx.
What should I do if mail does get lost or misplaced during forwarding?
Unfortunately, carriers like FedEx and USPS can misplace mail in their system from time to time.
Once mail has left the Stable facility, we are not able to recover it for you. Stable does not provide a guarantee on forwarded mail — once the mail has left our facility, we do not have control on how the shipper provider handles it, and cannot accommodate for external delays.
If you've chosen a shipping method with tracking, we provide you with that information in the Stable dashboard, and we recommend keeping an eye on the tracking to see if it updates. You can also sign up for mobile alerts.
International Forwarding
If you selected a forwarding method that requires customs or international duties, we provide your contact information to FedEx and USPS. They will reach out to you via the contact information we provided if there are any issues.
International forwarding, especially within Europe, is pretty rough right now. We're seeing packages get held up for several weeks in customs, and unexpected high custom fees are being tacked on. If possible, we'd recommend finding a workaround.
Getting in touch with FedEx and USPS
Here are some tips on getting in touch with FedEx and USPS.
FedEx:
You can call FedEx at 1-800-463-3339.
What's worked for us: to talk to someone there, continue to say "Give me more options," on all the prompts, then don't enter your tracking number to be put in the queue to chat with customer support.
USPS:
USPS can be a bit hard to reach and it may be easier to have your vendor resend the piece of mail.
Call USPS at 1-800-275-8777.
Follow the prompts — we recommend dialing the buttons instead of using the voice prompts.
